Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Medical Surgical Neuro (Neuro Surgical) Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week contract at a facility located in Newburgh, Indiana. The position requires candidates to have a current active compact license and to bring their license on the first day. The RN will provide specialized care to neuro and neuro-surgical patients, including those with cerebrovascular accidents, elective back/neck surgeries, post-operative craniotomies, and cerebral angiograms. The role involves working weekends, with candidates required to work every weekend and every other holiday. This position is for qualified candidates who possess at least two years of neuro nursing experience and recent electronic medical record (EMR) experience.

Job Details:

• Shift: 12-hour days, 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM, weekends (Saturday, Sunday, and one additional weekday).
• Schedule: 36 hours guaranteed per week, with the possibility of 48-hour shifts upon request.
• Required Qualifications: Current active compact license, AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), associate degree or certificate, at least two years of neuro nursing experience, recent electronic medical record (EPIC) experience, and trauma level II experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with neuro assessments, NIHSS/dysphagia screen, blood and blood product administration, venipuncture, NG tubes, drain management, and stable medication gtts.
• Float Requirements: First to float within skillset. There may be potential to float to other campus locations with a two-hour notice, including mid-shift float within the same campus.
• On Call/Call Back: Not applicable.
• Holiday Rotation: Every other holiday.
• Additional Information: Interview days include Monday through Friday with MSP interviews. The unit has 37 beds, and the nurse will be expected to precept students and new hires if necessary. Candidates must be COVID-19 vaccinated unless verified otherwise.
