Registered Nurse

To provide nursing oversight to people that attend the Day Habilitation program, and support and guidance to the staff. Responsibilities Provides medical oversight and medical assessment of all people that attend the Day Habilitation to ensure their safety and well-being. Provide continuous training and support to the staff in order for them to efficiently meet each person’s medical needs. Administer first aid as needed or instruct staff on necessary medical interventions. Reviews all medical records and paperwork, including annual physicals and medical visit appointments, on a regular basis and following doctor's orders as prescribed. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure all medical concerns are addressed. Acts as a liaison with the family, residences and MD to coordinate care. Ensure that all medical documentation is comprehensive and conforms with agency policies and procedures and is maintained in the person’s medical chart. Provide supervision to the LPN, and will be available to the LPN for any medical assessment or medical concern. Ensure implementation of all new medical policies and procedures by training staff and observation of practices. Ensure that work-related safety procedures are in place and are being adhered to by staff. Observance of an unsafe or a potentially hazardous work environment must be immediately reported to supervisor. Performs additional related duties as requested by her supervisor. Physical aspects may include but not limited to lifting and transferring of an adult/child. Qualifications Associate’s degree in Nursing required.
