Maintenance Technician

Maintenance TechnicianOur customer in Freeport, Illinois, is seeking motivated individuals to join their team. We’re recruiting a Maintenance Technician to work full-time on 1st shift. As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing or assisting with plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and repair work.Responsibilities of the Maintenance Technician:Perform general maintenance and repairs for buildings, grounds, and equipment.Complete carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, and masonry tasks.Maintain and repair HVAC systems, appliances, and mechanical equipment.Perform custodial duties and maintain clean, safe facilities.Maintain grounds including mowing, landscaping, and seasonal upkeep.Operate vehicles, tractors, tools, and maintenance equipment.Complete work orders, inspections, and maintenance records.Respond to maintenance issues and troubleshoot repairs.Follow safety procedures and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.Communicate effectively with residents, property management, and maintenance staff.Requirements and Qualifications:3+ years of apartment/housing maintenance or related experience.Working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and general maintenance.Ability to safely operate tools, equipment, and machinery.Understanding of maintenance safety practices and procedures.Strong attention to detail and customer service skills.Ability to troubleshoot problems and identify solutions.Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and email.Ability to communicate effectively with residents, staff, and vendors.Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.Must pass a pre-employment background check.General knowledge of, or ability to learn, HUD regulations and PHA policies.Pay for Maintenance Technician: $18.00/hour.Maintenance Technician Type: 1st Shift, full-time.Schedule: Monday-Thursday from 7:30am to 4:00pm. Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.
