Advocate

Status: Part Time Hourly, FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt Summary of the Position: We are currently seeking a Part-Time Advocate for the Salem, Oregon area to provide services to youth at the MAC Youth Facility. Responsibilities This position requires a minimum commitment of 35 hours per week in a structured facility setting. We are looking for individuals with experience working with youth, preferably in juvenile justice, mentoring, behavioral support, education, or social services. Candidates must demonstrate reliability, professionalism, strong communication skills, and the ability to compete accurate and timely documentation. Applicant must be dependable, committed, and able to serve as a positive role model for youth in the community, school, and home settings. The Primary responsibilitiesof the Advocate are to initiate, organize, plan, develop and implement direct advocacy services to assigned participants and their families. All service plans will be based on a strength-based approach using the wrap around model. Qualifications / Requirements High School Diploma or GED equivalent Experience in community work and knowledge of community resources. Experience working with at‑risk youth and youth involved in the juvenile justice system is a plus. Applicants should be comfortable using computer programs such as Microsoft Office. Experience using an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system is a plus. Efficient written and verbal communication skills. Position requires reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current auto insurance coverage. Bilingual (Spanish Speaking) is a plus.
