Pay Grade Calendar Days Salary Minimum AD4 191 Days $68,116 Effective the 25-26 school year this position will receive an additional $5,000 Critical Needs Stipend!

Department: Special Education Pay Grade: AD4

Primary Function

To assess the educational, learning, and behavioral needs of students suspected of having disabilities. The Educational Diagnostician collaborates with campus teams to develop and implement appropriate instructional programs and individualized education plans (IEPs) to support student success.

Qualifications

Education/Certification: Master's degree Valid Texas Educational Diagnostician certification Texas teaching certificate

Special Knowledge/Skills

Knowledge of diagnostic procedures, special education laws, and the ARD process Skilled in administering and interpreting a wide range of formal and informal educational assessments Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, parents, and support staff Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills Proficient in computer-based documentation systems and data analysis

Experience

Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience (special education preferred) Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate

Evaluation

Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with provision of the Board's policy on evaluation of personnel.

Essential Job Functions

1. Conduct full and individual evaluations (FIEs) in accordance with state and federal regulations.

2. Administer standardized and informal assessments to evaluate academic achievement, cognitive functioning, learning styles, and processing abilities.

3. Interpret assessment results and prepare comprehensive evaluation reports.

4. Participate in ARD committee meetings to interpret assessment data and develop appropriate IEPs.

5. Assist campus teams in determining eligibility for special education services.

6. Provide consultation and support to teachers, administrators, and parents regarding instructional strategies and accommodations.

7. Maintain compliance with timelines and legal requirements under IDEA and TEA guidelines.

8. Maintain accurate, confidential records and ensure timely submission of required documentation.

9. Support the district in child find activities, RTI processes, and eligibility reviews.

10. Travel to assigned campuses as needed.

11. Adhere to professional and ethical standards, in accordance with generally accepted community standards and the Texas Education Agency Code of Ethics.

12. Develop needed professional skills appropriate to job performance.

13. Maintain confidentiality.

14. Reliable attendance and punctuality.

15. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.

16. Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills.

17. Attend and participate in staff meetings and serve on staff committees as required.

18. Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.

19. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and the Superintendent of Schools.

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals

Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

Motion: Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching

Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 25 pounds)

Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress

Environment: Indoors including but not limited to: classroom, cafeteria, library, or other campus location. Outdoors (exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather). Exposure to noise. May work prolonged or irregular hours. A remote location in the event of a declared emergency, temporary closure, or closure.

Personal Protective Equipment may be required.
