POSITION OVERVIEW:

Under the supervision of the Head Chef, the Kitchen Aide performs general cooking duties and assists with all paperwork for the Senior Center to ensure nutritional compliance.

KEY ESSENTIAL:

• Ensure the Kitchen is clean and clutter free.

• Assist with meal preparation.

• Responsible for checking food temperature with head chef.

• Operate the dishwashing machine.

• Load rack, wash and air dry dishes, and store them in a clean, sanitary and orderly manner.

• Wash pots and pans. Stores them in a clean, sanitary and orderly manner.

• Clean and maintain dishwashing machine, dish racks, dish storage area, walls and floors.

• Responsible for seeing that the wash temperature is at least 140 degrees and rinse temperature is 180 degrees.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma/GED required.

• Physical ability to perform manual work.

• NY certification in food preparation required within 90 days of employment.

• Bi-lingual (Spanish) speaking. Must be able to read, write, and understand regulations in English.

• CPR certification must be obtained within 60 days of employment.
