In this engaging role, you'll assess patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings, crafting personalized treatment plans tailored to individual needs. Your expertise will guide patients through physical therapy interventions designed to enhance mobility, strength, balance, and overall function. Collaboration is key in this role as you work alongside nurses, physicians, and case managers, optimizing outcomes through cohesive care. You will not only treat but also educate patients and their families on therapeutic objectives, discharge strategies, and at-home exercises sharing vital knowledge that empowers them in their recovery journey. Documentation of evaluations and progress will be part of your responsibilities, ensuring compliance with facility and regulatory standards. You will engage in care team rounds and interdisciplinary conferences, contributing to a holistic approach to healthcare.

Education-wise, a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) or a comparable degree from an accredited program is required. Additionally, a state license to practice as a Physical Therapist and CPR certification is preferred. Specialized certifications in areas such as neurology or geriatrics are advantageous, although they are not mandatory. Your ability to treat complex medical and mobility issues, combined with strong communication and teamwork skills, will be invaluable in this role. Previous experience is strongly preferred, as is comfort with digital charting and clinical documentation systems.
