Customer Development Specialist

Are you energized by meeting new people, building relationships, and creating opportunities? Norfolk Iron & Metal is looking for a driven and customer-focused Customer Development Specialist to help grow our business by connecting with prospective customers and delivering an exceptional onboarding experience from day one.

This role serves as a critical link between our sales team and new customers. You'll identify potential business opportunities, generate qualified leads, support account setup, and help ensure every customer receives outstanding service as they begin partnering with Norfolk Iron & Metal.

Please note: This position is based onsite at our Corporate Headquarters in Norfolk, Nebraska. Remote work is not available for this role.

• Experience with Salesforce or other CRM systems is a plus.

What You'll Do:

• Generate qualified leads, connect with potential customers, and schedule opportunities for our Outside Sales team.
• Build and maintain sales opportunities in Salesforce while tracking progress toward district growth goals and key performance indicators.
• Guide new customers through the onboarding process, including account setup, credit applications, and portal registration.
• Serve as a trusted customer resource by helping customers place orders, track deliveries, and navigate account-related questions.
• Ensure a seamless customer experience by monitoring orders, following up regularly, and coordinating solutions across departments.
• Gather customer feedback and identify opportunities to improve processes, CRM tools, and the overall customer experience.
