Job Description

Buck Town Contractors & Co. is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Structural Concrete Carpenter to join our team in Kenner, LA. In this role, you will play a critical part in our structural concrete projects, building and installing the formwork necessary to hold heavy concrete structures in place. The ideal candidate will have 2–3 years of experience working specifically with structural concrete, a strong understanding of blueprints, and a commitment to precision and safety. Pay is competitive and will depend on your experience and will be discussed during the interview.

Key Responsibilities

Formwork Construction: Build, erect, and strip wood, metal, or composite forms for structural concrete pours (including foundations, columns, beams, retaining walls, and slabs).
Reinforcement Installation: Assist with the placement and securing of rebar, mesh, and anchor bolts according to engineering specifications.
Blueprint Reading: Interpret structural drawings, blueprints, and sketches to accurately calculate dimensions and lay out formwork.
Pour & Finish Assistance: Ensure forms are securely braced to withstand the pressure of heavy concrete pours; assist with monitoring the pour to prevent blowouts.
Safety & Quality Control: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite, adhering strictly to OSHA standards and company safety protocols.

Requirements & Qualifications

Experience: 2–3 years of experience in concrete carpentry, with a strong focus on structural concrete preferred.
License: Must possess a valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record and reliable transportation to job sites around Kenner and the Greater New Orleans area.
Technical Skills: * Proficiency with standard carpentry hand and power tools.
- Strong math skills for accurate measurements and layout calculations.
- Ability to read and execute structural engineering blueprints.
Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs, climb scaffolding, bend, kneel, and work outdoors in South Louisiana weather conditions.
