Reports To: Physical Therapist / Rehabilitation Director Position Summary Location: Huntsville, AL Job Type: Full-Time Schedule: Monday-Friday Reports To: Physical Therapist / Rehabilitation Director Position Summary We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team. The PTA will work under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to implement treatment plans, assist patients in improving mobility and function, and support their recovery goals. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, team-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional care. Key Responsibilities Implement treatment programs established by the supervising Physical Therapist. Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, stretching, balance training, gait training, and mobility activities. Monitor patient responses to treatment and report progress, concerns, or changes in condition to the Physical Therapist. Document treatment sessions accurately and timely in the electronic medical record system. Educate patients and family members on prescribed exercises and home programs. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized therapy environment. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of patient care. Adhere to all company policies, state regulations, and professional standards of practice. QualificationsRequired Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program. Current Physical Therapist Assistant license in Alabama. Current CPR/BLS certification. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with patients of all ages and backgrounds. Preferred Previous experience in outpatient setting Experience with electronic medical records (EMR). Knowledge of orthopedic, neurological, and post-surgical rehabilitation. Skills and Competencies Excellent patient care and customer service skills. Strong observation and documentation abilities. Ability to motivate and encourage patients throughout the rehabilitation process. Effective time management and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, transfer, and assist patients throughout the workday. Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds with or without accommodation. Physical stamina to provide hands‑on patient care in a clinical environment.
