Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job

Overview
Registered Nurse, Med Surg – Hilo, Hawaii. Travel, temporary assignment starting 09/21/2026 for 15 weeks. Day shift with 36 hours per week after the first full week of orientation. Weekly pay range: $1,910 to $1,987 per week. No guaranteed hours. You will provide Med/Surg care for adult patients and may float to Surg, Peds, or Transitional Care units as needed in a hospital setting. This assignment requires Hawaii licensure by start of assignment.

Responsibilities
- Deliver Med/Surg nursing care for adult patients (18+) including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Administer medications, monitor patient status, manage IV therapies, and assist with wound care and drains as indicated (e.g., wound vac, chest tubes)
- Document patient information accurately in the Meditech EMR; utilize Pyxis for medication dispensing
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care, respond to changes in patient condition, and ensure safety and quality of care
- May float to Surg, Peds, or Transitional Care units as needed; maintain appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios and adhere to unit policies

Requirements
- Active Hawaii RN license by start date or eligible to obtain by start
- BLS required; ACLS preferred
- 2+ years of Med Surg or higher-level care experience
- Ability to work day shift with flexibility for varying shift lengths and days
- Must arrive the Thursday before start date to complete employee health requirements
- Demonstrated ability to work in a hospital setting and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
