Sign‑On Bonus: $15,000 (eligible with 12 months RN experience; requires a 2‑year commitment). This opportunity offers 3x12‑hour night shifts (7:00pm‑7:30am) with weekend rotations, utilizing a self‑scheduling tool, and includes an 18% night shift differential plus a flat $3/hour weekend shift differential. The position is located in Banner Baywood Medical Center’s Neuro Progressive Care Unit, a nationally certified Primary Stroke Unit. Position Summary This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing standards. The RN is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others under their direction, utilizing specialized knowledge and judgment to assess data and plan care appropriate for the physical and developmental needs of patients. Core Functions Assess patient’s physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural and discharge planning needs; review history, diagnostics, lab data, and report abnormal results to physicians. Formulate a plan of care, including discharge plan, incorporating assessment data and input from patient, family, and health team; set realistic, measurable goals and revise the plan as patient status changes. Implement the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of the healthcare team; provide care based on physician orders, nursing plan, and regulatory requirements. Evaluate patient and family response to care and teaching, revising the plan of care as needed; assess progress toward goals and outcomes with the team. Document assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record, ensuring legibility, timeliness, and compliance with policy. Provide evidence‑based care, participate in research activities, unit/shared leadership, education, and orientation of facility personnel, patients, and families; mentor and precept when appropriate. Contribute to society through activities that improve patient outcomes; participate in national nursing quality improvement initiatives and professional organizations. Supervise staff and workflow of the department (in some roles). Interact with all levels of staff, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts, providing spiritual support and clarifying clinical information. Minimum Qualifications Current, valid RN license in the state of practice (or temporary/interim/compact licensure). BLS certification required. One year of acute‑care experience in a specialty area (eligible for Banner Registry/Travel positions). Experience within the past 12 months in the specialty area or an acute‑care setting as a Registered Nurse is required for registry and travel positions. Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area of practice through annual validations. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
