What this job involves - At JLL, we drive resource efficiency management and sustainability through everything we do, across all service lines and job positions. Specifically, we are growing our practice to drive end-to-end sustainability solutions in real estate, from site selection to decommissioning.In this role, you will work directly with a Client as well as JLL’s internal IFM and Sustainability team supporting energy and cost reduction and sustainability goals, targets, and initiatives. As a member of the JLL Sustainable Operations team, you will ensure our sustainability services are effective and efficiently delivered. You will act as a catalyst enabling our Client to increase engagement across stakeholders, achieve progress towards goals, and realize success with improving building and facility performance while achieving cost savings. You will ensure program integration and implementation across multiple business lines and functions throughout the real estate lifecycle to achieve scope of work delivery and goals. This role requires strategic implementation, leadership, and a programmatic approach to embed sustainability thinking and practices into real estate functional aspects (e.g., fit-outs, occupancy, maintenance, experience, etc.).This is a remote position located within the United States. leadership and accountability including ongoing coordination of energy and sustainability initiatives, monitoring and reporting, and ownership of client relationships.Leveraging client tools and applicable in-house JLL tools and processes for problem-solving and monthly, quarterly and annual ESG and cost reporting.Understanding the implementation of sustainability and resource efficiency management across the life cycle of commercial real estate, including strong understanding of critical stakeholder rolesAbility to incorporate state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence tools to identify and drive savings opportunities.What is your day-to-day?· Take ownership of and enhance the development and implementation of a multi-faceted sustainability program to drive cost savings, including but not limited to the following :· Energy savings (electrical, natural gas, diesel and other fossil fuels, refrigerants, etc.)· Water savings· Waste generation savings and reduction in waste to landfillLead the implementation and continuous improvement of energy reduction and sustainability initiatives across the client real estate portfolio, including development of relevant feasibility of sites for ENERGY STAR certificationsProvide strategic direction and guidance on ways to effectively and efficiently implement and manage sustainability services that meet client expectations, including development of annual and multi-year tactical and programmatic sustainability plansMeet client sustainability objectives and relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure processes for monitoring and measuring performance are transparentOwn and develop internal and external stakeholder engagement to ensure integration of energy and sustainability initiatives· Manage the energy, waste, and water data collection process and produce monthly and quarterly reports that are tailored to meet our clients’ specific requirements· Engage with facility managers, energy champions, and account colleagues as they are key points of contact for the provision of wide-ranging advice in relation to all aspects of environmental sustainabilityEstablish strong working relationships with other JLL workstreams (technology, finance, projects, IFM, consultants, and procurement) to deliver against KPI targets, elevate the sustainability mission and objectives, and drive implementation where most organic within the business· Collaborate with other JLL Sustainable Operations and Sustainable Strategies team members to share best practices, develop case studies, and pursue new business opportunities while leveraging the larger JLL Sustainable Operations ProgramWith cross-functional view, effectively manage changes in partnership with stakeholders, which have the potential to impact sustainability objectivesWork in direct collaboration with data analysts to confirm data integrity and accuracy including quality control checks Track and communicate success stories to ensure a high level of awareness and engagement is achieved with regard to the overall sustainability programDemonstrate innovative thinking and proactive management in bringing new ideas and solutions to the service’s delivery, and ensure they are rolled out effectivelyDevelop and enhance systems and processes for delivering best practice sustainability performance and use of utility/sustainability management systems for monitoring and/or reporting purposesOwn and manage program deliverables according to scope of work and scheduleProvide SME input and own program related fields)Certified Energy Manager conferred by the Association of Energy Engineers10 plus years’ experience in sustainable operations, engineering of commercial and lab buildings, building science, facilities management or related fieldAdvanced understanding of energy conservation measures and sustainability initiatives in commercial real estateStrong operations experience in large multi-dimensional organization with focus on operations management, productivity, or engineering excellence and embody a bias for actionStrong communication and cross-collaboration skills, and ability to coordinate effectively with various stakeholders.
