Job Title & Details Financial Analyst – Department: Fiscal Services. Work Shift: Day. Job Category: Finance. Job Description As a Financial Analyst you will provide support to the insurance division Banner Plans and Networks (BPN) for monthly processes, including Lawson General Ledger (G/L) and Accounts Payable (AP) queries, and financial reporting (revenue & expenses) by department. You will support the quarterly forecast process for BPN and provide support for assigned plans or networks, including Banner University Health Plans, Banner MA, Banner Health Network, Banner Network Southern AZ, and Banner/Aetna JV on monthly processes such as Lawson G/L queries and financial reporting by plan. Monthly Duties Month end journal entry support, analysis of revenue, expense and FTEs by department compared to forecast; Invoicing of admin costs; Pulling claim lags and reviewing claims data; Reconciliation of membership, care coordination payments and physician incentives to accruals and other ad‑hoc reporting and projects. Required Skills Excellent Excel skills, including formulas and pivot tables; SQL query knowledge for pulling claims data and using Lawson queries; Strong ability to analyze large volumes of data. Schedule Monday‑Friday, 8:00AM‑4:30PM. Position Summary This position provides financial decision support for operations by providing management with information for use in planning, controlling and improving operations and making strategic decisions. Core Functions Prepares alternate and complete financial and statistical reports by identifying appropriate sources of data and meaningful financial indicators; includes the coordination of the facility month end close process and required participation with corporate finance. Creates and generates reports used to analyze data. Maintains accurate statistical, contractual or other financial databases, as assigned. Works with other analysts to manage key financial processes within facility (including operating budgets, forecasts, program reporting and analysis, charge management, cost accounting, decision support and reimbursement analysis). Acts as a technical resource and liaison to system management, administrators, department heads, and co‑workers on financial related issues. Works on problems requiring data analysis and evaluation of identifiable factors; typically receives general instruction on routine work with judgment within defined practices and policies. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience. Zero to two years experience in healthcare finance. Ability to work with minimal supervision and prioritize multiple projects. Proven analytical skills. Proficiency in sophisticated software programs and office desktop applications. Excellent human relations, organizational and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Additional related education and/or experience. Estimated Pay Range $26.40 – $44.00 per hour.
