STEP, Inc. is seeking a Customer Service Specialist to join our Utilities Assistance Program. In this important role, you'll assist individuals and families in accessing utility assistance programs, community resources, and support services that help improve their quality of life.If you're detail-oriented, compassionate, organized, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where every interaction matters, we'd love to hear from you.What You'll DoAs a Customer Service Specialist, you will:Welcome customers and visitors with professionalism and courtesy.Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and connect individuals with appropriate resources.Assist customers with applications, eligibility screenings, and program enrollment.Gather, verify, and accurately enter customer information into agency databases.Educate customers about utility assistance programs and available community services.Review and maintain customer records while ensuring confidentiality.Process referrals, recertifications, and program documentation.Collaborate with team members to provide exceptional customer support.Help individuals navigate services that address essential household needs.Pay Rate: $18.09Schedule: 20 hours per week - flexible (5 days x 4 hours or 4 days x 5 hours); start time also flexible within regular office hoursReady to Apply?If you're passionate about customer service and want to make a positive difference in the lives of others, we encourage you to apply today and become part of the STEP team.STEP, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED.At least one year of office or administrative experience.Strong communication and customer service skills.Experience with data entry, databases, spreadsheets, and general computer applications.Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail while managing multiple tasks.
