Field Service Technician I-III (32620)

Under minimal supervision, the Field Service Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing advanced semiconductor manufacturing equipment at customer sites. This hands‑on role is ideal for experienced field‑service professionals as well as skilled technicians from the semiconductor, HVAC, automotive, industrial maintenance, military, or other electromechanical industries who have strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and are looking to transition into the high‑tech semiconductor industry. Essential Functions Service equipment and/or products at customer sites or service center to include all contracted preventative maintenance, unscheduled maintenance, consumable changes, installations, and start‑ups. Interpret operation manuals to determine root cause of tool failures. Provide documentation of preventative maintenance, downtime, issues, and time spent preparing reports for product movement and justification for on‑site service. Perform preventive maintenance with little supervision. Order, expedite, and notify customers or management when replacement of product is necessary. Diagnose mechanical, hardware, software, and systems failures using service maintenance checklist and protocols. Identify and elevate design issues to engineering and management for resolution. Provide technical support to customers on operational or maintenance of system tool and/or equipment. Under supervision and direction, perform install activities on CMP equipment covered under phase one (dock/level and interconnection) of tool installation or just before the power‑on process. Act as a customer contact on technical and service‑related problems. Guide other field technicians and field service engineers. Train and mentor Field Service Technicians levels I‑II‑III. Assist in all functions required in the operations of the service center, assist and/or provide service support to other customer sites as needed. Comply with Finesse training for proper maintenance of parts usage and transactions. Comply with EBARA’s safety policies, including participation in and completion of all required safety training. Maintain a clean and safe working environment compliant with Ebara and customer safety policies. Perform other duties as assigned. Position Qualifications Competency statements include: Ability to lift 35 lbs. unassisted from the floor to waist level. Ability to read and work from electrical and mechanical schematics and diagrams. Ability to perform the identified essential functions of the classification, including operating any machinery and/or equipment associated with those functions. Ability to perform the essential functions of the position in a cross‑cultural, demanding and dynamic environment. Ability to perform the essential functions of the position without posing a direct threat of harm to him/herself, others or property. Ability to adhere to EBARA personnel policies and practices, including the attendance and punctuality requirements. Education Associate of Science degree in Electronics, or completion of an accredited basic electronics program, or equivalent experience. Experience Three (3) to Ten (10)+ years of work‑related experience, preferably in the semiconductor, automotive, or similar industry. Working knowledge of mechanical skills. Working knowledge of principles of semiconductor and/or vacuum technology. Strong customer relations skills. Skills & Abilities Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot at the component level. Working knowledge of MS Office products including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint. Speaking in front of groups. Strong time management skills. Self‑starter. Demonstrated leadership and program management skills. Strong relationship building skills with the ability to collaborate and work effectively with internal colleagues and customers. Demonstrated teamwork and organizational skills. Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills.
