Chemical Production Operator

Job Title: Chemical Production Operator Pay Rate: $18/hr Shift: Full-Time | Monday - Friday | 5:00 AM Start Time (8-hour days; occasional overtime/weekends required) Position Overview We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Chemical Production Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining production machinery and equipment used in chemical processing operations. You will handle chemical ingredients, execute mixing processes, perform routine quality checks, and support continuous process improvements to ensure productivity and workplace safety. Key Responsibilities
- Chemical Handling & Batching: Measure, store, retrieve, mix, and monitor raw chemical materials according to precise batch sheets and manufacturing instructions.
- Machine Operation & Equipment Care: Operate production equipment, perform basic troubleshooting, replace worn or defective components, and assist in unloading drum trailers.
- Forklift & Material Handling: Safely operate a forklift (Hilo) to move, package, and restock raw materials per SAP work instructions.
- Quality & Data Tracking: Conduct daily quality inspections, record detailed batch data (ingredients, weight, temperature), and maintain accurate information in the database.
- Safety & Maintenance: Strict adherence to health and safety protocols, prompt reporting of safety concerns/accidents, and daily 5S housekeeping of the production area.
- Required Experience: Prior experience handling chemicals in a processing/manufacturing environment and demonstrated hands-on Hilo/forklift operation experience.
- Minimum Education/Background: Prior experience in a production or manufacturing setting.
- Essential Skills: Strong basic math skills, ability to read measuring devices, high attention to detail, and a strong work ethic in a team environment.
- Environment: Industrial plant/warehouse setting (warm temperatures during summer months).
- Physical Effort: Ability to stand, move, and walk for 8+ hours per shift; regular lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Flexibility: Willingness to work overtime and occasional weekends as needed.
