Locum Tenens Anesthesiologist Opportunity in Colorado Springs, CO

Physician Anesthesiology opportunity in Colorado Springs, CO. This locum tenens assignment is for clinical only coverage from October 22, 2026, to July 2027. The schedule includes weekend days from Friday to Monday, 7a to 5p, and weekend nights from Friday to Monday, 7p to 7a. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered.

Patient Information:

• Patient Demographics: 80% Adult, 20% Trauma; Mostly Adult
• Average Daily Volume: 60 surgical cases per day
• Case Mix: 50% General, 10% Neuro, 20% Complex Vascular, 20% Complex Ortho; also includes Obstetrics, Head & Spine Neurosurgery

Facility Information:

• No. of Beds in Department: 22 Operating Rooms
• Trauma Level: Level 1
• EMR System: EPIC (Hospital & Surgical Center)
• Office Equipment Available: Difficult airway equipment available
• Specialty Backup Available: Other anesthesiologists present
• Support Staff Available: CRNAs/AAs (3 supervised at a time in medical direction model)

Job Requirements:

• Board: Board Certified in Anesthesiology
• Licenses: Active CO License or Universal License (IMLC) - Willing to review candidates needing to obtain license
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA)
• Experience: Minimum 2 years Trauma Level I experience (outside residency); No first-time locums; Must have experience with PEDs and open vascular procedures
• Other Qualifications: Must be able to cover 2 weekends per month; Clean malpractice and background; Local candidates highly preferred

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide anesthesia services for surgical cases including general, neuro, complex vascular, and complex ortho
• Supervise/medically direct CRNAs and AAs (up to 3 at a time)
• Perform required procedures such as central lines, arterial lines, nerve blocks, and regional anesthesia
• Manage acute volume and blood pressure issues, and provide pain management
• Cover weekend day and/or night shifts as scheduled
