Lumber Yard Associate

Lumber Yard Associate Pay: $18.47–$22.41 an hour. This position reports to the General Manager, Assistant Manager, and Location Supervisor, and works closely with both internal and external customers. Responsibilities Safely, accurately, and efficiently load customer vehicles with orders of building materials. Ensure appropriate paperwork is completed as per company policy. Receive delivered inventory by properly inspecting paperwork for accuracy and depositing inventory in designated locations. Inspect stock and returned items to ensure salable quality. Put stock away in the correct location and neatly. Provide required paperwork for change orders. Complete inventory adjustments. Participate in inventory preparation and post procedures. Read and follow instructions on picking tickets. Open and close warehouse and yard when necessary. Complete Blue‑Volt training as required. Attend product knowledge meetings and stay current with product applications. Know product locations in the yard and warehouse and read measuring tape. Maintain forklift cleanliness and overall yard cleanliness. Adhere to company procedures, policies and protocols as set forth in the Employees Handbook. Wear high‑visibility safety gear and proper uniform. Perform daily lift inspections. Always look behind/honk horn when backing/rounding blind corners. Safely operate equipment. Report all accidents/incidents and damaged products promptly. Perform daily safety audits of forklift and report malfunctioning equipment. Keep aisles and exits clear. Attach red safety flag to over‑length product. Participate on safety committee if needed. Consistently follow safety protocols. Greet and assist all customers, share product knowledge, and pull orders for will calls. Qualifications OSHA Certified forklift License preferred. Ability to speak, read, and write English. Knowledge of receiving/inventory control principles, practices, and protocols. Knowledge of dimension lumber and panel products and other building materials. Ability to read and interpret picking tickets and invoices. Ability to concentrate and attend to detail in a busy work environment. General knowledge and use of power tools. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift up to 90 lbs. Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Ability to stoop, bend, and walk. #J-18808-Ljbffr
