Position Overview Siemens Mobility’s Rail Infrastructure division is searching for a Senior CBTC Technical Manager to join our team in New York, NY. In this role you will be the technical leader for Communications‑Based Train Control systems within rail infrastructure projects, acting as the internal and external technical pilot and ensuring solutions align with customer expectations, regulatory standards, and contractual requirements. Your responsibilities will cover end‑to‑end technical management of system architecture and design lifecycle to drive project success. Responsibilities Act as the customer’s primary technical interface : manage and resolve system‑level inquiries while maintaining customer satisfaction. Lead systems team activities : coordinate cross‑functional teams to ensure deliverables meet time, quality, and cost objectives. Provide system requirements and ensure compliance : serve as system authority to guide subsystem design and validate system compatibility. Manage technical work packages : oversee work packages across subsystems, operating safety, and cybersecurity to ensure seamless integration. Enhance technical solutions : collaborate with work package owners to optimize system outcomes. Consolidate equipment repositories : align subsystem equipment repositories with system‑wide configurations for testing, warranty, and maintenance. Lead the technical change management process : guide the project’s Change Control Board (CCB) to resolve deviations and facilitate change implementation. Prepare technical reporting : provide detailed updates on system deliverables to the Project Manager and Customer. Facilitate migration planning : lead integration and migration efforts in collaboration with Rail Infrastructure teams. Qualifications Extensive technical leadership experience : 5–10 years in systems engineering, rail signaling, CBTC, or complex infrastructure projects, with at least 5 years in a technical role such as Technical Manager or Lead Systems Engineer. Team and project management skills : experience leading engineering teams and overseeing cross‑functional work packages (e.g., systems integration, subsystem management, cybersecurity). Systems expertise : proficiency with requirements definition, integration, validation, and migration planning within large‑scale programs. Customer‑facing technical skills : proven ability to act as the key technical interface for discussing and resolving customer requirements. Change management familiarity : demonstrated capability to lead technical decision‑making, coordinate CCB activities, and resolve system‑level challenges while meeting contractual, schedule, and budget requirements. Salary range: $155,754.00 – $170,000.00 annually with a target incentive of 10% of base salary. Actual compensation may vary based on budget, candidate experience, and geographic location.
