Summary of Position :

As an Assistant General Manager/Inventory Coordinator, your primary responsibility is to manage and maintain accurate inventory levels of food and related supplies. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring that the units operate as efficiently as possible with the lowest stock requirements needed. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including front-line staff, vendors, and administrative personnel, to optimize inventory processes and facilitate timely supply orders.

Qualifications :

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in food service management operations. Preferably in an institutional management setting.
• High school diploma or G.E.D. required. Associates degree beneficial.
• Strong analytical mind with strong math skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational and planning skills.
• Proficiency in using inventory management software, word processing and spreadsheet knowledge.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities :

Inventory Management:

• Regularly monitor and update inventory levels for all food and supplies in storage locations.
• Conduct routine audits to ensure accuracy and address discrepancies promptly.
• Utilize inventory management software to track and manage stock levels.
• Must build plans to utilize inventory.

Food Ordering:

• Collaborate with front-line managers to forecast food and supply needs based on menu requirements.
• Place timely and accurate orders with approved vendors to maintain optimal inventory levels.

Quality Control:

• Inspect received shipments to ensure quality and compliance with established standards.
• Address and report any issues with delivered items promptly.
• Work with vendors to resolve quality concerns and discrepancies.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

• Generate and analyze reports related to inventory levels, consumption patterns, and cost trends.
• Provide regular reports to management, highlighting key performance indicators and recommending improvements.

Communication and Collaboration:

• Maintain effective communication channels with front-line staff and vendors.
• Collaborate with various departments to coordinate special events, promotions, or changes in menu offerings.

Regulatory Compliance:

• Stay informed about relevant regulations and guidelines related to food safety and school nutrition programs.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations governing food service operations.

Training and Support:

• Provide training and support to cafeteria staff on proper inventory management procedures.
• Help in implementing best practices to improve overall efficiency.
• Other functions, duties and responsibilities as may be assigned or which are necessary or appropriate to the position.

Salary range: $52,000-56,000 per year
