Registered Nurse Labor and Delivery

$2692.80/week - Job Summary: The Registered Nurse I (RN I) provides safe, compassionate, patient-centered nursing care in a Labor and Delivery setting. The role involves delivering comprehensive clinical support across peripartum, labor, delivery, and postpartum care, ensuring optimal outcomes for both mother and newborn. Responsibilities: Conduct thorough assessments of patients in labor and develop tailored care plans. Deliver direct nursing care, including monitoring fetal well-being and maternal health during labor and postpartum. Educate patients and families about labor, delivery, and postpartum care, ensuring cultural sensitivity and health literacy. Supervise and coordinate care with licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants, and ancillary staff. Document all clinical interventions accurately in the electronic health record. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure smooth patient transitions and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Qualifications: Current New Mexico RN license or active Multi-State Compact (eNLC) license. Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification from the American Heart Association or equivalent. Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred. Certification in BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring required within established timeframes. Demonstrated skill in labor support, delivery, and neonatal assessment, with sterile technique proficiency. Excellent communication, critical-thinking, and teamwork skills for high-stress clinical situations.
