Director, Human Resources with Union Tank Car Company (UTLX)

Union Tank Car Company is seeking an experienced Director, Human Resources, to serve as a key business partner to operational leadership and help shape the future of our workforce. This is a highly visible leadership role that combines HR leadership, labor relations expertise, talent development, and organizational effectiveness across multiple locations.

What You'll Do

Serve as the senior HR leader supporting business operations and leadership teams

Partner with leaders on talent acquisition, workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational development

Coach and influence leaders at all levels on employee relations, performance management, and talent strategies

Drive transformational change initiatives and continuous improvement efforts

Develop and implement leadership development and employee engagement programs

Support annual HR processes including performance management, compensation planning, and talent reviews

Lead, mentor, and develop HR team members while driving high-impact business outcomes

Lead employee and labor relations strategies, including collective bargaining agreement administration and dispute resolution

What We're Looking For

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field

8+ years of progressive HR leadership experience

Strong background as an HR Business Partner and people leader

Exceptional coaching, employee relations, and organizational development skills

Ability to influence and build relationships across all levels of the organization

Experience in manufacturing, industrial, repair, transportation, or related environments preferred

HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) is a plus

Experience supporting unionized workforces and administering collective bargaining agreements will be helpful

Pay Range: 170,100.00 - 207,900.00
