Senior Counsel, Real Estate, Land Use, & Siting (hybrid schedule)

Such matters include the acquisition, modification and disposition of real estate rights and negotiation of a wide range of agreements associated with the company’s operations, assets, capital projects, and diverse real estate holdings. The position will be located in Manchester, NH and is eligible, under Eversource’s current hybrid work policy, for work from home up to two days per week as business circumstances and workload permit. However, the successful candidate may periodically be required to travel to attend in person meetings with internal and external stakeholders and/or attend hearings before federal, state and local regulatory agencies in Connecticut, Massachusetts and/or New Hampshire.Position Requirements:Requires knowledge of and experience with real estate, land use, and transactional matters, title reviews, negotiation and enforcement of easements, rights of way, leases, licenses, encroachments, option agreements and purchase and sale agreements. Candidates having prior utility, energy industry, or siting experience are strongly preferred. Experience with environmental law, litigation, data and cyber security issues and emerging AI technology will be considered a plus but are not required. The successful candidate must be self-motivated and be able to work closely and collaboratively with in-house legal counsel, internal business clients, company management and, in certain cases, outside counsel. Being a good team player, well-organized, and able to identify business-oriented solutions to legal problems are important qualities to ensure success. The candidate must also demonstrate excellent written and oral communications skills and legal research abilities. Compensation:Compensation will be commensurate with the individual’s demonstrated ability and level of experience.Education: Requires a Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor degree.
