Position Summary:
\n As part of the Millennium Medical Group clinical team, an Ob Hospitalist embraces the following focus on delivering a quality Ob Hospitalist program:\n (1) Delivery of quality care that is evidence-based and consistent with the core

\n (2) A spirit of service to others including building and maintaining relationships with medical staff,
\n nursing staff and hospital leadership,
\n (3) A spirit of service to the Ob Hospitalist team,
\n (4) Connecting to our medical
\n group network, and
\n (5) financial stewardship. This position will be part of a team of clinicians at the assigned
\n site working together with the support of the Site Director of Ob Hospitalists. Position Responsibilities : Essential

\n • Remain abreast of changes in medical evidence and apply relevant changes to medical practice
\n • Deliver obstetrical and gynecological care to patients including but not limited to providing contraceptive
\n services (at hospitals that provide contraceptive services)
\n • Ensure consistent performance of clinical services in accordance with program definition
\n • Deliver direct patient care to high-risk patients including situations where Maternal-Fetal-Medicine support
\n may only be available by telephone
\n • Participate in the development of clinical guidelines and protocols at the assigned site
\n • Ensure that practice consistently conforms to hospital guidelines, policies, and protocols
\n • Ensure that delivery of care
\n • Participate in peer reviews or investigation of clinical incidents as requested
\n • Collaborate with team to ensure hospitalist participation in overall quality initiatives
\n • Ensure daily in-person handoffs between clinicians using a standard format
\n • Participate daily in Labor and Delivery board rounds
\n • Participate in clinical drills
\n • Collaborate with MMG quality department as requested
\n • Completion of required educational courses (e.g. ACLS, BLS, NRP, FHR training)
\n • Completion of required corporate training A Spirit of Service to Others
\n • Ensure that patient encounters meet the needs of the patient and their family
\n • Treat others with respect and courtesy
\n • Ensure timely response to calls/pages
\n • Support community physicians and midwives through clinical assistance as requested including practice coverage as requested and as safely available
\n • Participate in hospital meetings (e.g. department meetings, peer review, quality improvement)
\n • Active involvement in the daily activities of the labor and delivery unit
\n • Reinforce the clinical aspects of MMG value proposition at the hospital
\n • Collaborate with Site Director of Ob Hospitalists, and MMG program manager.
\n • Arrive on time for assigned coverage periods
\n • Work with the team to ensure that there is 100% schedule coverage at assigned site Fiscal Stewardship
\n • Ensure that patients are seen in a timely fashion
\n • Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the medical record; all charting must be completed by the end of the assigned shift
\n • Ensure accurate and timely completion and submission of billing information by the end of the assigned shift
\n • Ensure accurate and timely submission of requested quality data
\n • Collaborate with the hospital and team to deliver care that efficiently utilizes healthcare resources
\n • Collaborate and support community physicians and midwives to help maximize their practice efficiency
\n • Communicate regularly with Site Director of Ob Hospitalists to discuss program concerns or opportunities
\n • Participate in monthly team meetings Essential Skills/Credentials/Experience/Education
\n • Board Certified or Active Candidate Ob/Gyn Physician
\n • Licensed to practice medicine in the state of assigned site
\n • Highly relational, able to build strong rapport and positive working relationship with all stakeholders
\n (Hospital leadership, hospitalist teams, nurses, staff physicians, and MMG corporate staff)
\n • Team oriented, service minded, goal focused individual who believes in MMG mission
\n • Excellent verbal and written communication skills Preferred Skills/Credentials/Experience/Education
\n • Significant experience with obstetrical emergency care \n
Mental and Physical Demands (per ADA guidelines)
• Sitting for long periods of time
\n • Position also requires walking, standing, stooping or kneeling
\n • Regularly required to use computer keyboard, mouse and telephone
\n • Lift and carry objects such as books and files weighing up to 15 pounds
\n • Close vision work and ability to adjust focus
