Lead Technician

Lead Technician Transdev in Rockville, MD seeks an experienced Lead Diesel Technician to supervise a team of diesel technicians and ensure the timely and safe maintenance and repair of diesel vehicles and equipment. Benefits Competitive compensation: $25.00 – $42.00 per hour Vacation: minimum two weeks Sick days: 5 days Holidays: 12 days (8 standard + 4 floating) 401(k) retirement plan, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term disability, voluntary long‑term disability Company‑paid ASE testing and training materials Responsibilities Coordinate and prioritize the workload of the diesel technician team, assigning tasks and ensuring timely completion. Utilize advanced diagnostic tools to identify and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues. Manage inventory levels of parts and supplies to support maintenance and repair activities. Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and other components. Coach and monitor team members. Qualifications Minimum five years of experience as a diesel technician with proficiency in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines. Master ASE Certified. Strong leadership and supervisory skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment with high attention to detail. Subject to a DOT physical exam and DOT drug testing. Physical Requirements Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions (100% outdoors, often alone). Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours); walk long distances and on uneven surfaces. Push, pull, lift objects up to 50 lbs., occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch.
