JOB SUMMARY:

Designs electrical system for overhead cranes and monorail equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned :

• Determines electrical system requirements to meet application requirements and code.
• Draws schematic of electrical system.
• Selects components and produces detailed drawing of control panel assembly, with bill of material on computer aided design system.
• Writes control logic for systems.
• Identifies causes and solutions for electric system problems.
• Manages multiple projects.
• Follows established department procedures and company policies.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

This position requires a BSEE degree with at least 3 years of professional experience or (2) years relevant overhead crane experience. Knowledge of the National Electrical Code is required, and knowledge of CMAA (Crane Manufacturers Association of America) and MMA (Monorail Manufacturers Association) specifications, as well as trouble shooting skills, standard welding and shop fabrication procedures, is preferred. Must have experience in electrical engineering for overhead cranes or related equipment, strong verbal and written communication skills, along with excellent computer skills in Microsoft Products, AutoCAD, and SolidWorks.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Frequent keyboard & computer use. Occasional lifting requirement of 20 - 30 pounds (assistance available if necessary). Occasional work at heights on job site.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Normal office environment. Some travel may be required.
