Registered Nurse - Float Pool Syracuse Registered Nurses Full-time Opening on: Apr 16 2026 Nursing‑NSS ICU Grade 20 State of New York Registered Nurse 2(T&RC) Grade 20 89043 PEF (Professional, Scientific and Technical Services) Job Summary: The professional float nurse will perform and coordinate nursing care to patients in multiple specialized units requiring advanced knowledge and skills. The incumbent will make independent decisions regarding complex patient care problems which involve the analysis of multiple sources of data, identification of alternative health care possibilities and the selection of a course of treatment action. The professional float nurse exemplifies the Upstate mission, vision, and values and acts in accordance with Upstate policies and procedures. Minimum Qualifications: RN licensure as outlined by NYS Education Department. Two years post‑licensure clinical nursing experience in an acute care specialty area. Meets NYS Civil Service requirements.
