Senior Maintenance Mechanic

We are seeking a Senior Maintenance Mechanic whose responsibilities will include tending to generators, water pumps, and essential machinery. Other responsibilities include welding, electrical, and fabrication duties as well as maintaining records and reports. This position requires the ability to haul heavy equipment for various departments and the ability to respond to emergency call out to repair equipment, nights, weekends, and holidays. Essential Job Functions

Repairs equipment by diagnosing problems; changing parts; rebuilding engines and pumps; performing 12 volt electrical and hydraulic repairs.

Maintains equipment and facilities by changing oil and filters; lubricating all equipment at scheduled times; performing scheduled maintenance on equipment; inspecting equipment for damage or wear; cleaning tools; maintaining the cleanliness of shops and facilities; and scheduling repairs with contractors.

Maintains records and reports by writing reports on inoperable equipment; maintaining records of all equipment repairs; completing daily work logs; ordering parts; and maintaining parts inventory.

Performs welding, cutting and fabrication duties and fabricating accessories.

Rebuilding water valve gear boxes.

Hauls heavy equipment to various sites in the city.

Ability to respond to emergency call out, nights, weekends, and holidays.

All other duties as assigned by a supervisor/manager within your department/division.

Regular and consistent attendance and punctuality for the assigned work hours is essential.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Training beyond high school. Could include some college hours, technical school, or correspondence course and or equivalent experience.

Experience: Minimum of 3 - 5 years of related experience.

Licenses: Valid Driver's License and obtain CDL Class A within 1 year of hiring required.

Certifications Required: Small Engine Certification, Certified Forklift Operator, and Certified DOT Brake Inspector are required or the ability to obtain within first 12 months of employment.
