Commercial Banking Team Lead

Pemberton & Associates has been retained to identify an experienced SVP Commercial Banking Team Lead for Mascoma Bank in the Burlington market.

This is an opportunity for an established commercial banker to join a stable, relationship-focused institution with a strong credit culture and long-term commitment to the Vermont market. The role combines commercial production with leadership, giving the successful candidate the opportunity to continue building meaningful client relationships while mentoring and developing a team of commercial lenders.

The Opportunity

The SVP Commercial Banking Team Lead will be responsible for growing and managing a high-quality commercial portfolio while providing leadership to lenders across the market. This individual will work closely with senior commercial and credit leadership on deal structure, pricing, credit quality, portfolio strategy, and continued growth in the Burlington/Chittenden County market.

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop and expand commercial relationships throughout the Burlington market.
• Originate and structure complex C&I and commercial real estate opportunities.
• Manage and deepen an existing portfolio of commercial relationships.
• Maintain strong portfolio and credit quality while balancing risk with growth opportunities.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of commercial lenders.
• Partner closely with credit and senior leadership on larger and more complex transactions.
• Build referral networks and represent the bank throughout the business community.
• Help shape the continued growth of the commercial banking team and its presence in the market.

Background

• 10+ years of commercial banking experience, including complex C&I and/or CRE lending.

• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain meaningful commercial relationships.
• Leadership, mentoring, or team-development experience.
