Organization Murfreesboro OR Job Summary Contributes to the Anesthesiology department by preparing the Operating Rooms with equipment and supplies to support the daily workload with occasional guidance; assists anesthetists and anesthesiologists, patients and co-workers; tracks and maintains equipment, specialty carts, trays and inventory and participates in the advancement training program. Position Shift PRN Days; 6:30a-3p/5p About Us Our experts in pediatric surgery treat conditions from common to rare, including appendicitis, hernias, tumors and birth defects. We work closely with a team of pediatricians, family physicians, pediatric anesthesiologists and other specialists such as pediatric home care providers. Our pediatric surgeons perform thousands of procedures on newborns, toddlers, young children and teens every year. They specialize in the diagnosis, preoperative, operative and postoperative management of problems in children that can be corrected surgically. Key Responsibilities Conduct FDA anesthesia machine check. Prepare general, MAC, or regional cases. Consult operating room schedule to determine equipment needs for procedures and prepare operating room for indicated procedure, including setting up and calibrating monitoring equipment. Assist licensed anesthesia care provider in clinical settings outside the operating rooms, including but not limited to interventional and/or diagnostic radiology, Cath Lab, endoscopy, ambulatory surgery suites, and any other areas as needed. Function as a first line of defense in troubleshooting situations involving machines, monitors, and equipment relative to anesthesia. Assist Anesthesia Provider during invasive line placement – arterial, central, PA (knowledge of how to calibrate and troubleshoot). Maintain inventory of emergency carts – trauma and airway. Technical Capabilities Medical Terminology & Documentation (Fundamental Awareness): Limited experience, training, direct exposure, or past experience working with medical terminology and documentation. Equipment Maintenance (Fundamental Awareness): Limited experience, training, direct exposure, or past experience conducting maintenance activities in area of assignments. Anesthesiology/Anesthesia Technical Support (Fundamental Awareness): Limited experience, training, direct exposure, or past experience working as Anesthesia Technical Support. Position Qualifications – Required High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience) Previous related experience in operating rooms is preferred Core Accountabilities Organizational Impact: Performs tasks that are typically routine but may impact team performance with occasional guidance.
