Manager, SmithThe Manager is first and foremost a leader to the staff and host to our guests. They will support the entire FOH team to ensure that the bar and dining room are functioning with excellence during service. The Manager will be expected to learn Back of House procedures to ensure food is delivered on time, on brand, and with excellence. Communication between Front and Back of House, through management teams down to every staff member, is of chief importance.In addition to the regular weekly schedule of management shifts, the Manager will be expected to attend weekly manager meetings and trainings as offered by Smith or The Business Director. The Manager will be expected to learn all positions in the Front of House to ensure that at any time this person can jump in to help the restaurant in any situation. The Manager must also handle the administrative duties of the day such as cash handling, blog reporting, invoice organization, etc.Additional accountabilities may be assigned as training is completed and firm knowledge and comfort of the Manager role is established.Commitment, enthusiasm, integrity, humility, and grace under pressure are required.Accountable to: The Business DirectorIdeal Skills and AttributesProven experience in a supervisory or managerial role within the hospitality industry.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Professional and complete communication, highly encouraged through email or Microsoft Teams and not via Text or social media.Strong leadership abilities with a focus on teamwork.Social Awareness – always understanding what is appropriate to discuss or do at work.Knowledge of restaurant operations including front of house and back of house functions.Ability to handle high-pressure situations and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.Time management – able to be present and thoroughly complete tasks in a well-designed and organized timeline.Accountabilities Include:Team LeadershipSupervise and lead the front of house staff. Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure a cohesive and efficient team.Customer ServiceMaintain a high standard of customer service by interacting with guests, addressing concerns, and ensuring their satisfaction.Handle customer feedback and implement improvements based on customer suggestions.Operational EfficiencyOversee daily restaurant operations to ensure smooth service and timely delivery of food and beverages.Monitor and manage table turnover, reservations, and seating arrangements. Manages and ensures overall cleanliness and impeccability of the space during service.Quality ControlEnsure that all service areas are clean, organized, and adhere to health and safety regulations.Collaborate with kitchen staff to maintain high quality food presentation and taste.Inventory ManagementMonitor and manager inventory levels for front of house supplies such as tableware, linens, and condiments.Coordinate with relevant departments to restock supplies as needed.CommunicationFacilitate communication between front and back of house staff to ensure seamless coordination.Relay important information to the team such as menu changes or special promotions.Problem ResolutionAddress and resolve any customer complaints or issues promptly and professionally.Collaborate with other managers to find solutions to operational changes.Ideal Skills and AttributesProven experience in hospitality management or related field.Proven track record of delivering exceptional guest experiences and driving customer.
