Staff Accountant - Tax Services

BMWL is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our growing Tax Team in helping religious, charitable, educational, and associational organizations meet their tax compliance, planning, research, and strategic tax needs. Whether you're a recent graduate beginning your accounting career or an early-career professional looking to grow in public accounting, we'd love to hear from you. Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong aptitude, interest, or experience in areas such as: Tax and information return preparation Tax research and analysis Critical thinking and problem-solving Written and verbal communication Client service and relationship-building Attention to detail and organization Effective use of technology and software solutions Responsibilities will include: Communicating directly with clients to gather information, answer questions, and provide exceptional service Preparing tax-related information, workpapers, and federal and state tax and information returns for nonprofit organizations Researching and analyzing technical tax issues affecting exempt organizations and their activities Drafting correspondence, memoranda, and other written communications addressing tax matters and compliance requirements Assisting with tax planning and consulting projects for nonprofit clients Collaborating with other team members to address client needs and deliver high-quality service Supporting other tax compliance, research, and client service matters as needed No Experience Necessary: While relevant tax experience is beneficial, this role is designed primarily for recent graduates and early-career professionals. We are seeking someone with strong aptitude, curiosity, a positive attitude, and a desire to learn rather than extensive prior experience. More important than experience, we're looking for someone who genuinely cares about serving the nonprofit sector.
