About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum 1 year of current specialty experience required License: Valid state license required Certifications: - BLS (Basic Life Support) Must-Have: - Epic charting experience required - Oncology experience preferred but not required Description: Join our team as a Registered Nurse in a corrections health unit. You will provide care to patients in a secure environment. Float to various medical-surgical units as needed. Ensure staff safety in a corrections unit environment. Key responsibilities include: - Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. - Unit-based telemetry monitoring. - Implementing IV insulin protocols. - Feeding tube care and management. - Pre/Post hemodialysis and renal failure management. - Administration of blood products and central line care. - Non-invasive airway management and tracheostomy care. - Managing cardiac drips and patient-controlled analgesia. - Working with interdisciplinary support teams as necessary. Patient care includes a variety of diagnoses, including active oncology diagnoses. You will also manage patients with non-oncology conditions. Successful candidates must have experience in managing complex patient populations. This unit will present unique challenges and opportunities. Candidates must be aware of the urgency regarding credentialing processes.
