Immediate opening for a Custodian in Rancho Bernardo, CA who possesses:

• 1 to 3 years of janitorial, custodial, or facilities maintenance experience
• Reliability and ability to work a second shift schedule with strong attendance and punctuality
• Excellent customer service skills, professional presentation, and ability to interact with residents, guests, and staff

FULL DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a dependable and service-oriented Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout community facilities and common areas. This role is responsible for custodial, light maintenance, and event support duties while ensuring facilities remain in excellent condition for residents, guests, and staff. The ideal candidate will be reliable, friendly, professional, and comfortable working independently during evening hours in a highly visible community setting.

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

• Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, kitchens, meeting rooms, fitness areas, offices, and common areas
• Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and polishing floors, furniture, fixtures, and equipment
• Emptying trash and recycling receptacles and disposing of waste properly
• Maintaining cleanliness of entrances, walkways, patios, parking areas, and exterior spaces
• Setting up and breaking down tables, chairs, and equipment for meetings, classes, and special events
• Monitoring and replenishing cleaning supplies, restroom supplies, and paper products
• Performing routine inspections to identify maintenance or safety concerns and reporting issues to management
• Assisting with minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, replacing air filters, and basic repairs as assigned
• Operating custodial equipment including floor machines, vacuums, carpet cleaners, and other cleaning tools
• Following established safety procedures and proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment
• Assisting during special events, community functions, and emergency situations as needed
• Maintaining positive and professional interactions with residents, guests, vendors, and staff
• Ensuring facilities are properly secured at the end of each shift, including locking doors and turning off lights and equipment as needed

The selected candidate will also possess:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous custodial, janitorial, or facilities maintenance experience preferred
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and safety practices
• Ability to safely operate custodial equipment and tools
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
• Professional presentation and friendly demeanor
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen
• Ability to work onsite Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, and Thursday through Saturday from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM
• Ability to work additional hours as needed to support special events, community activities, or operational needs

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and reach for extended periods
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
• Ability to move tables, chairs, and equipment for events and facility needs
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to perform repetitive motions and physically demanding tasks throughout the shift
• Ability to safely use custodial equipment, cleaning tools, and cleaning chemicals

Salary Range: $22 to $23/hour
