Senior Fire Protection Engineer

Mechanical Engineering Manager

Plan, schedule, coordinate, and execute detailed mechanical engineering work within projects or engineering teams.

Perform engineering tasks involving conventional practices, including resolving complex design challenges and coordination issues.

Prepare equipment specifications, material requisitions, technical bid evaluations, and award recommendations.

Coordinate engineering efforts across disciplines, clients, suppliers, and contractors.

Lead technical tasks and guide engineers or project subgroups to ensure successful delivery.

Communicate complex technical issues and recommend solutions to project leadership.

Support development of engineering procedures, design guides, and departmental standards.

Mentor designers and drafters, providing on-the-job training and professional development.

Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment promoting teamwork and communication.

Strong expertise in fire protection systems within semiconductor, AI data center, or life sciences/pharma environments.

Ability to design and specify fire protection systems, including sprinkler systems, fire-water pumps, and storage tanks.

Experience performing hydraulic calculations and sizing fire water piping systems.

Knowledge of wet pipe systems and standards such as NFPA 13 and NFPA 14.

Experience with fire protection equipment including pumps, storage tanks, and deluge systems.

Familiarity with cooling tower deluge systems in accordance with NFPA 214.

Understanding of fire protection testing, acceptance procedures, and compliance with regulatory authorities (AHJ).

Experience managing engineering subcontracts and coordinating with stakeholders.

Knowledge of industry codes and standards including ASME, IBC, IMC, and NFPA.

Strong problem-solving skills with ability to troubleshoot field and jobsite issues.

Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and complex project requirements.

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

10+ years of relevant experience in semiconductor, AI data center, or life sciences/pharma industries.
