The Physical Therapist Assistant will work under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality, evidence-based rehabilitation services to patients recovering from injuries, surgeries, chronic pain, mobility limitations, and other physical conditions.The ideal candidate is patient-focused, team-oriented, professional, and committed to helping patients restore movement, improve function, reduce pain, and return to daily activities.Key ResponsibilitiesThe Physical Therapist Assistant is responsible for carrying out treatment plans established by the licensed Physical Therapist. Responsibilities include:Provide therapeutic exercises, manual therapy support, gait training, balance training, neuromuscular re-education, and functional mobility activities.Assist patients with rehabilitation programs based on the Physical Therapist’s plan of care.Monitor patient progress during treatment sessions and report changes, concerns, or improvements to the supervising Physical Therapist.Educate patients on proper exercise techniques, home exercise programs, safety precautions, and injury prevention.Document patient treatments accurately and timely in the EMR system.Maintain compliance with clinic policies, state regulations, payer requirements, and professional standards.Ensure treatment areas and equipment are clean, organized, safe, and ready for patient care.Build positive relationships with patients, families, referral sources, and team members.Support clinic flow by assisting with scheduling coordination, patient engagement, and communication with the care team.Promote a professional, welcoming, and compassionate environment for every patient.QualificationsAssociate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.Current Physical Therapist Assistant license in the applicable state.CPR/BLS certification preferred or required based on clinic policy.Experience in outpatient physical therapy preferred, but new graduates may be considered.Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively with Physical Therapists, front desk staff, technicians, and clinic leadership.Bilingual English/Spanish preferred in many clinic locations.Required SkillsKnowledge of therapeutic exercise and rehabilitation techniques.Strong patient care and customer service skills.Ability to follow established treatment plans and clinical protocols.Excellent time management and organizational abilities.Professional documentation skills.Ability to motivate and encourage patients throughout their recovery.Commitment to safety, compliance, and quality care.Physical RequirementsThis role may require the ability to:Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and move for extended periods.Assist patients with mobility, transfers, and therapeutic activities.Lift or support patients and equipment as needed.Perform hands-on patient care in a busy outpatient clinic setting.Core Values AlignmentThe Physical Therapist Assistant is expected to represent Physical Therapy Now’s core values:Patients First: Deliver compassionate, reliable, and life-changing care.Teamwork with Heart: Collaborate with humility, integrity, respect, and service.Now Matters: Act with urgency and intentionality to make every patient interaction meaningful.Performance ExpectationsSuccess in this role includes:Delivering excellent patient care and patient satisfaction.Following the Physical Therapist’s plan of care accurately.Completing documentation on time.Maintaining professional communication with patients and staff.Supporting clinic productivity and efficient patient flow.Contributing to a positive, respectful, and team-focused clinic culture.CompensationCompensation is based on experience, license status, location, and employment type.Equal Opportunity StatementPhysical Therapy Now is an equal opportunity employer.
