Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks a cell culture scientist for a fully onsite formulation development role in San Diego. The position supports early-stage drug research through mammalian cell culture work, physicochemical characterization, and method development for small-molecule candidates.
Responsibilities
- Culture, maintain, and characterize mammalian cell lines using aseptic techniques
- Conduct physicochemical property assessments of small-molecule drug candidates
- Perform experimental troubleshooting and contribute to method development and optimization
- Design, execute, and analyze experiments; communicate results to support project goals
- Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks and comply with safety, quality, and ethical procedures
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, molecular biology, or related lab science
- 2+ years of hands-on experience or master's degree in relevant field
- Experience culturing and maintaining mammalian cell lines, particularly Caco-2 cells
- Experience with Transwell plates and in vitro permeability or transport assays
- Experience with solubility and stability assessments in biorelevant media
- Demonstrated experimental design, troubleshooting, and method development skills
- Strong documentation practices and data integrity commitment
