Maintenance Assistant

Location Hampton South Plainfield, South Plainfield, NJ 07080, USA Description The Hampton Inn by Hilton – 205 New World Way, South Plainfield, NJ 0708 is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our full‑time team. The shift is 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Flexible availability is needed. Responsibilities Basic repair work, painting, wall covering, plumbing, electrical work. Pool operations and preventive maintenance for indoor and outdoor grounds. Maintain fixtures and equipment according to the preventive maintenance schedule and log as required by Buffalo Lodging and the hotel brand. Maintain and service pool and spa areas, including testing and recording as required by state and local regulations. Clean internal areas of buildings, sweeping, mopping, garbage removal, cleanliness of public and storage areas, and parking lot. Qualifications At least 2 years of mechanic experience in a hotel or related field. HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler operations and general maintenance skills. Ability to bend, kneel, lift, push, carry and pull up to 75 lbs.; reach overhead, climb, crouch, twist. Valid driver’s license required. Shift Schedule Typical shifts include any day of the week, including weekends. The schedule is based on business needs and normally runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.
