RN - Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Position Overview Department: Surgery, OR Schedule: Available shifts – 1 Full-time, Monday–Friday, shifts start at 6:00 am, 5/8‑hour shift. Rotating holiday, weekend, and evening call required. Work Location: UAB St. Vincent's East. What You Will Do Deliver professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures. Perform scrub functions, including selection and handling of instruments and supplies used during the procedure. Perform circulating functions, including monitoring, recording, and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of patient before, during, and after the procedure. Directly assist operating physician with surgical tasks, including hemostasis, suturing, wound exposure, and patient positioning. Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use. What You Will Need Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Minimum Requirements: Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing and professional licensure at time of hire. Additional Preferences OR Experience Preferred.
