Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade - Senior Driver and Property Officer - PN NEW - LE2 Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade - Senior Driver and Property Officer - PN NEW - LE2 Ongoing, Full Time USD $60,336 to USD $66,600 Please note -- new starters commence at base of salary range Washington DC, United States of America About the position Under direction, the Senior Driver and Property Officer coordinates the timely and courteous driving services for the Ambassador, visiting VIPs, Embassy staff and other authorised passengers, while maintaining official vehicles in a safe and serviceable condition and also undertaking a driver role as needed. The position supports the efficient operation of the Australian Embassy by contributing to the coordination and management of the Embassy’s vehicle fleet. This includes assisting with vehicle leasing contract management and compliance, maintenance scheduling, basic vehicle maintenance and minor repairs, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational requirements. The position also undertakes deliveries and collections and performs routine administrative and manual support tasks across the Embassy as required. This role requires flexibility, including a significant level of after-hours and occasional weekend work. To work at the Embassy or Consulate-General, you must be: A US citizen or US lawful permanent resident (green card holder) (18 years or older), or In possession of a valid US Employment Authorisation Document (EAD), or In possession of an A2 visa or eligible to apply for one (20 years or older)*, or In possession of a derivative A visa and a registered member of the family (18 years or older) of a diplomat at the Australian diplomatic mission to which the diplomat is registered. * Employment based upon an A2 visa is limited to 5 years and cannot be extended. All periods of employment on an A2 visa at any Embassy, Consulate or foreign government office is included in the 5-year limit. All members of the A2 principal visa holder's household will be issued A visas or must change to an A visa as this visa class takes precedence. Married spouses of locally engaged employees who are issued dependent A2 visas cannot work in the United States. Those employees with a pathway to US permanent residency must take it up as soon as they become eligible. Remuneration package Salary USD $60,336 to USD $66,600 New starters commence at base of salary range.
