Senior Digital Product Owner - Lending

Job DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?As a Senior Product Owner for Lending you be responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight of digital product initiatives in RBC's Banking & Lending business within US Wealth Management. You will align product strategy with lending objectives, and drive innovation across the digital client experience and lending solutions portfolio. This role will have a focus on Tailored and Securities Based Lending.What will you do?Strategic LeadershipDefine digital product strategy for lending products including Securities Based and Tailored LendingEstablish product roadmaps aligned with lending business goals and customer needsIdentify market opportunities in alternative lending, and credit productsDrive innovation in customer-facing and internal lending platform experiencesEnsure compliance with banking regulations, anti-money laundering (AML), and consumer protection frameworksTeam Leadership & DevelopmentProvide coaching on product strategy, regulatory requirements, and banking industry best practicesFoster collaboration between product, compliance, risk, fraud prevention, and business teamsPortfolio & Financial ManagementOversee lending product portfolio performance and ROIManage budget for technology used for lending productsPrioritize investments based on customer value, revenue impact, and strategic fitPresent business cases to secure funding for digital transformation and product innovationMonitor product profitability, cost structures, and operational efficiencyStakeholder & Executive EngagementReport to Banking & Lending leadership on product performance, market trends, and competitive positioningManage relationships with key stakeholders including Banking/Lending Product team, vendors, IT/App Dev partners, compliance, and risk teamsCommunicate product vision and roadmap across the organizationRepresent product function in regulatory and strategic business discussionsEnsure alignment with RBC's broader digital and lending strategyProcess & GovernanceEstablish product management frameworks aligned with banking regulations and RBC governance standardsImplement decision-making structures for product launches and feature prioritizationEnsure compliance with federal banking regulations, consumer protection laws, and fair lending requirementsDrive continuous improvement in product development processes while maintaining security and data privacy standardsCoordinate with Security, Compliance, Risk, and Fraud Prevention teams on product initiativesSupport product documentation and audit requirementsWhat do you need to succeed?Must-haveBachelor’s degree, preferably in business, finance or technology7+ years of product management experience in financial services (banking, lending, or consumer finance)5+ years leading product management teamsProven track record of scaling digital products in highly regulated banking environmentsStrong understanding of banking industry and lending operationsExperience navigating regulatory compliance, risk management, and consumer protection in financial servicesExcellent strategic thinking and executive communication abilitiesDeep knowledge of agile and digital product development methodologiesWhat’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
