Travel Respiratory Therapist - Registered RT/RRT

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a night shift position at a teaching hospital, requiring 2+ years of experience and an active Ohio state license.

Job Details

• Respiratory Therapy unit within a hospital setting,
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM), 36 hours per week,
• Weekend work required,
• Floating between campuses may be required,
• Works in Adult Critical Care and Emergency Department settings,

Job Requirements

• Active BLS certification required,
• RRT certification required (CRT accepted only if RRT not held, not both),
• Active Ohio state license required in hand at time of consideration (not pending),
• License required if applicable,
• Minimum 2 years of experience required,
• High school diploma or official transcripts required during compliance process,
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program,
• Experience with ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, and weaning from mechanical ventilation,
• Experience with airway management including extubation, suctioning, and tracheostomy care,
• Experience with arterial blood gas (ABG) interpretation,
• Experience with various medication delivery systems and administration including nebulizers, aerosol setups, and oxygen therapy,

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will be considered for this position,
• Provide respiratory care services including ventilator management, airway management, and medication administration,
• Responsible for pulmonary hygiene, sputum specimen collection, and ABG interpretation,
• Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed urgently upon contract signing, with candidates outside Ohio required to travel for fingerprinting or complete a mailed fingerprinting packet,
• RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less,
• Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor-level leadership position; Charge RN acceptable for second reference; coworker references not accepted,
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility,
• Current employees are ineligible for travel positions at this facility,
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers
