About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Mid Shift Hours per Shift: 10:00 AM - 10:30 PM Experience: Minimum of 2 years of acute care RN experience License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Acute care nursing, patient assessment, care plan development, clinical intervention monitoring, patient and family education Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse focuses on safe, effective patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. The RN promotes their own development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. The RN applies the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care. The RN is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. The RN focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. The RN applies their educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care and mentoring/precepting staff. The RN performs assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition. The RN demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. The RN initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care. The RN collaborates with the patient/family and interdisciplinary services. The RN utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the organization, patient, and family. The RN monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions. The RN facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs. The RN participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts and implements practice changes. The RN complies with regulatory standards and participates in the practice governance model. The RN delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. The RN functions as a mentor/preceptor and demonstrates teamwork. The RN identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement.
