As a BrightBee Custodian, you’ll work within the Novato Unified School District . In these roles, you’ll help keep school buildings clean, safe, and running smoothly for students, teachers, and staff. No two days are the same—but every day matters. During your interview we will go into detail about what assignments are available at these sites. T he more sites and assignment types you are open to working, the more your earning potential is . 

These assignments will primarily support summer needs with strong potential for ongoing work:

Cleaner Shifts (Flexible / Part-Time & Full-Time Options):

• Monday – Friday
• 7am-4pm

Cleaners will be assigned specific areas and follow a checklist to complete daily tasks. This is great for folks who like structured, independent work.

Custodian Roles (Consistent / Higher Responsibility):

• Monday – Friday
• 7am – 4pm (full-day, consistent schedule)

Custodians are responsible for the full building and grounds, including opening/closing, overseeing cleanliness, and maintaining the overall environment. These roles require strong reliability and are intended for consistent, long-term placement.

\uD83D\uDC49 This is great side-gig or full-time opportunity work and may turn into long-term or permanent opportunities based on performance!

• Work 2–5 days per week
• Full school day shifts (around 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM ).
• Pick up assignments that match your schedule
• Great as a side hustle or consistent weekly income

• Cleaning, custodial, or janitorial experience 
• Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus

To keep students safe , you’ll need to:

• Pass a background check
• Follow safety and reporting guidelines
• Complete required school clearances   which you are responsible for paying .
  • Costs associated with the clearance process are the sole responsibility of the candidate, as this engagement is for an independent contractor role rather than a traditional employment position.  Requirements vary by state but may include the cost of a background check, obtaining a copy of any college transcript you have, and the cost of completing Mandated Reporter training. The average cost of completing clearance in California for this role is between $123 - $214.
