About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med Surg/Telemetry/Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM Hours per Shift: 12.5 hours Experience: 2 years of previous experience (required), at least 1 travel contract completed (preferred) License: State license in Iowa and Illinois (required) Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA) Must-Have: Must have experience with chest tubes, femstops, trachs, CBIs, drains, and central lines. Must have experience with amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, insulin, heparin, dopamine, dobutamine, Isuprel, milrinone, and Argatroban with some titration. Profile should include a driver’s license, work history/resume, skills checklist (must have been completed within 1 year of submission date), license verification, and references (1 supervisory reference required). Must have a taxable address outside of 50 miles from the facility, unless in specific local areas where they will accept local candidates with a rate reduction. Description: As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the traveler contributes professional and clinical knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients. The traveler may be asked to float within the same discipline across local campuses. This unit has historically maintained a 1:7 patient ratio. The high volume of open travel needs is a direct response to fix this ratio. The more travelers who fill the vacancies, the lower the ratio will be. The role requires flexibility in scheduling and a commitment to the provision of high-quality patient care.
