Operating Room Registered Nurse

This position requires an Operating Room Registered Nurse with a minimum of 2 years of experience for day shifts. The nurse will work 3 twelve-hour shifts from 06:30 to 19:00. The role includes scrubbing for surgical cases except for transplants and open heart surgeries. High volume of orthopedic cases, particularly total joints. Support teams available include Intensivist, Nurse Practitioner, Hospitalist, and Anesthesiologist, who are in-house 24/7. Additional provider support includes interpretation services, lift teams, pharmacy, phlebotomy, physical therapy, radiology, rapid response teams, respiratory services, social services, transportation, and unit secretary. The medication system in use is Omnicell, and SBAR communication is implemented. On-call duty is required, with obligations every third weekend. Previous traveling experience is preferred. Experience in circulating and documentation using Meditech is a requirement. Special procedures include robotics and other surgical specialties. The unit cares for a daily census of approximately 25 patients across various age groups. The number of operating rooms is 12, accommodating a similar number of beds. The position may require availability for on-call shifts 4-5 days per month, including weekdays and weekends.
