Description

We are seeking an experienced Director of Supply Chain to provide strategic and operational leadership across our purchasing, material planning, inventory, and supplier management functions.

This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring our manufacturing operations have the right materials, at the right time, while balancing cost, inventory investment, supplier performance, and business growth. The Director of Supply Chain will lead and develop the Materials team across multiple locations and work closely with Operations, Engineering, Finance, and other business leaders to strengthen our overall supply chain.

The ideal candidate brings strong manufacturing experience, understands how purchasing, planning, inventory, and supplier performance work together, and is comfortable moving between strategic initiatives and day-to-day operational challenges.

Salary: $100,000 - $125,000 annually

Requirements

What You'll Do

• Lead purchasing, materials, inventory, and supply planning functions across multiple manufacturing locations.
• Develop and execute sourcing and supplier strategies that improve cost, quality, lead time, capacity, and service.
• Lead supplier selection, negotiations, agreements, performance management, and supplier development.
• Partner with Production Planning and Operations to ensure material availability supports production schedules and customer requirements.
• Work closely with Engineering to source prototype components and establish suppliers for new product introductions.
• Develop inventory strategies that balance material availability, inventory investment, and working capital.
• Oversee on-hand, vendor-stored, and vendor-managed inventory programs.
• Strengthen the use of ERP/MRP systems and planning processes to improve purchasing, material requirements, rescheduling, and inventory accuracy.
• Identify supply chain risks and proactively address shortages, supplier challenges, excess inventory, and potential disruptions.
• Develop and execute cost-reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Establish and improve materials and purchasing policies, procedures, processes, and performance measures.
• Build, lead, and develop a strong Materials team capable of supporting current operations and future growth.
• Establish clear department goals, KPIs, and expectations and drive accountability for results.

What We're Looking For

• 7+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, materials management, purchasing, procurement, inventory management, or related manufacturing operations.
• 3+ years of leadership experience with responsibility for managing and developing teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, or a related field preferred. An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
• Demonstrated experience with supplier selection, negotiations, supplier performance management, and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Strong experience managing inventory, material availability, purchasing, and planning within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience working with ERP/MRP systems for purchasing, inventory management, material requirements, and planning.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and internal business partners.
• Ability to lead across multiple locations and balance strategic priorities with operational needs.
• Strong communication, organization, and follow-through.

A Plus

• Experience leading supply chain or materials functions across multiple manufacturing facilities.
• APICS/ASCM CPIM, CSCP, or another recognized supply chain certification.
• Experience supporting new product introductions and supplier development.
• Experience implementing supply chain KPIs, process improvements, and inventory optimization initiatives.

Additional Information


This position will work closely with leaders across Operations, Engineering, Finance, and other areas of the business and will have an important role in shaping the company's supply chain strategy as we continue to grow.

Travel to company locations and supplier facilities will be required based on business needs.
