HOSPITAL PHARMACIST – OVERNIGHT SHIFT
Location: New York
Pay: $80/hour
Schedule: 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM
Assignment: 13-Week Contract
Setting: Hospital / Inpatient Pharmacy
We are seeking an experienced Hospital Pharmacist for a 13-week overnight assignment . This is an excellent opportunity for a pharmacist with a strong inpatient hospital background who is comfortable working independently during overnight hours in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Responsibilities
- Review, verify, and process inpatient medication orders for accuracy, appropriateness, dosage, interactions, allergies, and contraindications
- Dispense medications in accordance with physician orders, hospital policies, and pharmacy regulations
- Provide clinical pharmacy support to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Monitor medication therapies and make recommendations to promote safe and effective medication use
- Review patient profiles, laboratory results, renal function, and other clinical information when evaluating medication therapy
- Prepare and oversee the preparation of IV medications and sterile compounds
- Assist with medication dosing, including renal dosing and other pharmacy protocols
- Respond to medication-related questions and provide drug information to clinical staff
- Participate in medication reconciliation and patient safety initiatives
- Maintain accurate documentation in the hospital pharmacy system/EHR
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, Joint Commission standards, and state and federal pharmacy regulations
- Manage controlled substances according to established policies and regulatory requirements
- Support emergency medication needs and respond appropriately to urgent requests during the overnight shift
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe and effective patient care
Requirements
- Active and unrestricted New York State Pharmacist license
- Minimum 2 years of recent hospital/inpatient pharmacist experience required
- Strong knowledge of inpatient medication management and clinical pharmacy practices
- Experience with IV medications and sterile compounding
- Ability to work independently during the overnight shift
- Strong attention to detail, clinical judgment, and communication skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced hospital environment
Schedule: 12:00 AM–8:00 AM
Pay: $80/hour
Contract Length: 13 weeks
