Project Overview

This project focuses on improving the ability of advanced AI systems to perform complex legal reasoning rooted in litigation and dispute resolution. We are building an AI legal assistant capable of analyzing case law, evaluating legal arguments, drafting litigation documents, and producing structured legal analysis reflective of professional courtroom and motion practice.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking experienced litigators and legal professionals who regularly work with motions, briefs, legal memoranda, case strategy, dispute analysis, or litigation research. Relevant backgrounds may include:

• Civil or commercial litigation
• Criminal defense or prosecution
• Employment or labor dispute litigation
• Administrative hearings and agency proceedings
• Arbitration and dispute resolution
• Legal aid or public interest litigation

Strong candidates often have experience evaluating legal arguments, identifying weaknesses in reasoning, or reviewing litigation materials with a critical eye.

Scope of Work

Contributors will often assess the strength, accuracy, completeness, and legal reasoning quality of litigation-related outputs. Examples include:

• Motion drafting and legal argument evaluation (motions to dismiss, summary judgment, motions in Limine)
• Case law research and synthesis
• Written discovery response preparation
• Deposition summary preparation
• Expert witness report review and rebuttal preparation
• Case chronology and timeline development
• Evaluating AI-generated legal reasoning for accuracy and completeness
• Grading model outputs and providing structured feedback

Minimum Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree
• Active or previously held license to practice law
• Experience drafting or analyzing litigation documents
• Ability to identify legal issues and risks in complex scenarios

Ideal Experience

• Litigation practice involving motions, briefs, or discovery analysis
• Deposition preparation or witness examination experience
• Experience producing legal memoranda or case strategy analysis
• Familiarity with legal research tools (CourtListener, PACER, Westlaw, Lexis)
• Employment, labor, or administrative hearing experience a plus

Compensation and Commitment

• $125/hour for approved submissions
• Flexible, remote participation (10–15 hours/week ). Candidates able to commit consistently throughout the engagement shall be prioritized.
• Initial work expected within the first week after acceptance
• Additional ad-hoc expert tasks may also be offered at the same rate.

Compliance Note

Candidates based in the states of California, Washington, or New York must have an Established Business Entity (e.g., an LLC) or establish one prior to being considered.
